Faceless Instagram with an AI character: setup, labels and what to post
7 min read
To start a faceless Instagram account with an AI character, pick the character and a name people can remember, write a bio that says what it is, AI included, and open the profile with nine posts that mix Reels made from trends and photos. On Duble AI the character goes into both.
This guide is about the profile and its grid. The format, the week of trends and the unoriginal-content rules are in faceless TikTok with an AI character.
What should you name the AI character?
A short name that is easy to say out loud and carries one trait of the character. The cast on Duble AI follows that mold, and each member has a one-line introduction the app shows next to the name.
| Name | One-line introduction |
|---|---|
| Marlene Volume | Building manager and lead singer of the band. |
| Tonho Tropical | Came to the wrong party and stayed. |
| Vicente Violeta | Writes letters with a fountain pen. |

Before you get attached to a name, check that the handle is available on Instagram. Duble AI does not create the account or check the handle. Do not use the name or the face of a real or famous person either.
In the app, your AI influencer is called a double. On its page, tap Edit to fill in Name, Bio and Instagram. The handle you save there becomes a link on the double's public page in the app and changes nothing on your Instagram account.
What goes in the bio?
Say who it is, what it posts and that it is made with AI, in that order and in a few lines. For Marlene Volume that could read: "Building manager and lead singer of the band. A new trend every other day. AI influencer."
Put the disclosure in plain sight in the bio. Mia Zelu went viral in July 2025 with front-row Wimbledon posts and, according to tennis.com, her bio said she is AI only behind a "Read More". Some of the comments on Jean Phil, according to YPulse (September 2026), came from people who felt deceived on learning he is not real.
One caution about the app's share link. When you tap Share on the double, the app creates a public link, and anyone who opens it and signs in to an account can take a copy of the double (only its first look or the whole double, depending on what you shared) for their own videos. Your double does not change, and a double made from your own photos shows on the link but cannot be taken. If you want a face that is only yours, keep that link out of the bio, and use Stop sharing if you already created it.
What should the first nine posts be?
Make all nine before you point anyone at the profile, so it does not open empty, and publish them in the order of the table. Six Reels from trends and three photos is one possible split:
| Post | Format | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Reel | The influencer in the most-viewed trend on the Trending list: this is the introduction |
| 2 | Photo | Alone in a ready-made photo, so the grid has a portrait |
| 3 | Reel | A trend with more people in it, such as an interview, with the influencer next to real people |
| 4 | Reel | A trend where it walks or arrives somewhere |
| 5 | Photo | The same influencer in a new look |
| 6 | Reel | A trend in that new look |
| 7 | Photo | The influencer stepping into a real photo, yours or a ready-made one |
| 8 | Reel | A dance trend, the only one on the grid |
| 9 | Reel | A video of your own, filmed on your phone, with the influencer in your place (only a video you have the right to use) |

The row above shows the effect to aim for: Megamente, from the cast, in three trends with the same face in all three. Reels show the influencer in motion. Photos give the grid a still face and change the rhythm.
The Reels
Each one is a trend made as in how to make AI trend videos: you pick the trend and the influencer, say what plays in the video, choose the quality and tap Generate video. A 10-second trend is 20 credits at Standard quality.
The photos
On the double's Photos tab, tap New photo. Swap into the photo puts the influencer in place of someone in the photo, and Join the photo puts it next to whoever is in it. You can use a photo of yourself, where the influencer takes your place, or one of the ready-made photos on the page, such as "On the phone, with a coffee", "With the shopping bag" and "On the phone, on the street". The photo comes out in the Instagram post format (4:5), takes about a minute and costs 2 credits. Only send photos you have the right to use: other people in them stay in them. More in putting your character into a real photo.
The look
A new look costs 2 credits and changes the clothes and the hair without changing the face. Changing the look every two or three posts keeps the grid from reading as one photo repeated.
Six 10-second videos, three photos and one new look fit comfortably inside the 160 credits of "A week of posts" ($29.99). Credits never expire.
How often should you post after the nine?
At a pace you can keep up. The app's packs are sized for different paces: "A week of posts" for a week of daily posts, "A month of posts" for a month of posts every other day and "A season of posts" for three months of posts. The $49.99 monthly plan gives 15 ten-second videos.
How does Instagram's AI label work?
Instagram asks you to disclose when a post has realistic video or audio made with AI. Meta's rules require disclosure through its AI-disclosure tool on organic posts with photorealistic video or realistic-sounding audio, and say Meta may apply penalties if you do not. Duble AI influencers look like photographs, so when in doubt, disclose. Meta also adds an "AI info" label on its own when it detects signals the industry shares (Meta's announcement).
For a profile, the account-level label matters more. On August 31, 2026, Instagram announced that its "AI creator" label is renamed "AI-generated profile". Creators add it by editing the profile. Those who add it before being detected see no change in reach, and Instagram says it will limit the reach of profiles that should carry it and do not. A restriction you believe was a mistake can be appealed in Account Status.
Duble AI does not post for you. You download the video, post it and label it, and the app reminds you on every finished video's page. Each platform's steps are in AI labels on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
What about unoriginal content rules on Instagram?
On the Meta pages we read, the rule that applies to AI content is the disclosure rule above. We did not find Instagram's own text on originality of AI content, so this guide does not say how the platform treats a profile made only of trends. What is known about TikTok and YouTube, with the Granny Spills case, is in the faceless TikTok guide linked at the top. As a caution of ours, and not an Instagram rule: a profile with its own name, look and routine is more yours than a run of the same template with the face swapped.
What is known about earning on a faceless Instagram account?
Paid posts, client videos and affiliate sales are different routes. Pick the route before planning the content.
Treat the profile as a production project before treating it as income. You need a buyer, sales or approval into a payout program, and confirmed revenue must cover your costs. The monetization guide explains the routes; the earnings guide shows what to measure.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I start a faceless Instagram account?
- Pick an AI character and a name people can remember, make a new Instagram account for it, write a bio that says it is made with AI, and publish nine posts that mix Reels from trends and photos. Duble AI makes the videos and photos, and you post them.
- Can faceless Instagram accounts make money?
- Some AI accounts land brand deals, but nothing is guaranteed, and the few figures published come from the agency itself, unaudited. Duble AI does not promise reach, followers or income: it makes the videos and photos, and the rest depends on how you post.
- Does a faceless Instagram account have to say it is AI?
- Where Instagram asks, yes. Meta requires disclosure, using its AI-disclosure tool, on organic posts with realistic AI-made video or audio, and may apply penalties if you skip it. Say it in the bio too, so nobody has to find out on their own.
- Is faceless Instagram legit or a scam?
- A faceless account is a format, not a guarantee of anything. Label AI content where Instagram asks and do not use a real person's name or face. Be wary of anyone selling income from it as a sure thing: nobody can promise that, and neither do we.
- How do I make faceless Instagram Reels with AI?
- Put your AI character into trends. On Duble AI you pick the influencer and the trend, say what plays in the video and choose a quality, then tap Generate video. A 10-second Reel is 20 credits at Standard quality, and the trend's original sound stays.
