How to replace two or three people in a video with AI
5 min read
To replace two or three people in the same video with AI, you need a double (or a photo) for each person who leaves, footage where each of them is clearly visible, and a plain way to say who is who. Duble AI takes up to three doubles in one video, and the price is the same as a video with one.
Duble AI is this site's product. The other tools below were read on their own pages on October 24, 2026, with a link in each row. No side-by-side test was run.
How many people each tool replaces in one video
| Tool | People replaced per video | Upload | Sound | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Duble AI | Up to 3 doubles | 3 to 30 s, up to 80 MB | The recording's own | The app's catalogue |
| vswp | Up to 6 photos | 1 to 120 s, up to 150 MB; processes a segment of up to 30 s | Keeps the original audio | Group guide, Oct 5, 2026 |
| Real Xablau | Up to 3 characters | 2 to 60 s | Original speech and audio | Xablau page |
| Viggle | Several, number not stated | Up to 1 min free, up to 10 min paid | Not stated | Pricing and Motion Control |
| Kling Motion Control | One: with two or more people it uses the largest | 3 to 30 s | Not stated | Kling guide |
Viggle calls the feature "Swap multiple characters" and says it identifies, tracks and replaces several characters in a single pass. The free plan has limited sessions of it; paid plans, from $7.99 a month on the pricing page, have unlimited sessions. The page does not say how many people fit.
Kling Motion Control does something else: it moves a character image with the motion of a reference clip, and its guide asks for a clip with one person. It is not built for swapping several people in real footage; our Kling Motion Control guide covers what it is for.
Which clip to pick for a group swap
The footage matters more than the photo. Each person who leaves should be large in the frame, with the face visible most of the time. vswp's guide to choosing a clip lists what gets in the way, and it applies to any tool of this kind:
- people small in the background or in a crowd;
- people who keep passing in front of each other;
- shaky handheld footage or fast pans;
- long stretches from behind or in profile;
- hands, hair or props over the face.
Two or three people side by side, close to the camera, in even light, is the easy case. If the people who leave wear similar clothes, telling them apart is harder and a double is more likely to land on the wrong person.
How to do it on Duble AI
In the app your AI influencer is called a double. For a group video, have one double ready for each person who leaves: invented, built part by part, taken from the cast, or made from photos of someone who agreed.
- Open the first double and tap Use your own video. Upload the clip as MP4 or MOV.
- Under How many people are in the video?, pick More than one.
- In Who [name] replaces, describe the person by clothes, position or hair ("the one on the left in a white T-shirt"). With more than one person this text is required, and everyone else stays as they are.
- Tap Add another double, pick the second one and say who it replaces. Repeat for a third.
- Pick the quality: Standard (720p) uses 3 credits a second and High (Full HD) 4. The app shows the cost before you start.
- Generate. Duble Identical takes 3 to 5 minutes.
The price does not change with the number of doubles: a 10-second video with three doubles costs what it costs with one. If a video fails, the credits come back at once. The result carries the recording's own sound, and when someone talks the mouth follows that voice. Duble AI never creates voices or music and is not a voice-dubbing tool.
For the single-person walkthrough, see how to replace the person in your own video.
What to check in the finished video
Watch it once per person, not once for the whole clip. In group videos it is common for everyone to come out well except one.
- Who went where. Check each double is where you described.
- Each double's face. Look at the moments when the person turns, ducks or passes behind someone.
- The people you kept. The app says the others stay as filmed, but the video is generated again. Faces and hands can shift a little, mostly where people cross.
- Hands and props. Fingers and held objects are where AI slips most.
If a double landed on the wrong person, rewrite who it replaces with a detail only that person has. If a face does not look right, read what to check when the face changes before you redo it.
Can you replace more than three people?
Not on Duble AI: the limit is three doubles per video, and anyone else stays as filmed. vswp accepts up to six photos in a segment of up to 30 seconds, at 480p or 720p, paid in Telegram Stars, according to its guide. For more options, see the AI tools for swapping a character in a video and the difference between a face swap and a full character swap.
Permission from each person
Ask everyone who appears in the footage and everyone whose face becomes a double. An invented AI influencer settles the face, but the footage still belongs to whoever filmed it and to the people in it. When you post, add the AI label where the platform asks for it, as explained in how to label AI content.
If you have no doubles yet, create the first one and build the others from there.
Frequently asked questions
- How many people can AI replace in one video?
- It depends on the tool. Duble AI takes up to three doubles per video, each replacing a different person. vswp accepts up to six photos per video and Real Xablau up to three characters, according to their pages read on October 24, 2026. Anyone you do not replace stays in the video.
- Does replacing three people cost more than one on Duble AI?
- No. The price is per second of video and per quality, and it does not change with the number of doubles. Standard costs 3 credits a second and High, in Full HD, 4. On vswp, by contrast, the price grows with the number of people replaced.
- How does the AI know who I want to replace?
- On Duble AI you answer that there is more than one person in the video and write who each double replaces, by clothes, position or hair. That text is required when there is more than one person. Tools like vswp show a card for each person found, and you drop the photo on the right card.
- Do the people I did not replace stay exactly the same?
- They stay in the video, but the result is generated by AI, not edited pixel by pixel. Faces and hands of the people you kept can shift a little, especially where people cross in front of each other. Check every person before you post.
- Do I need permission from everyone in the video?
- Yes. Ask everyone who appears in the footage, and anyone whose face a double is made from. Use clips you filmed or have the right to use. An invented AI influencer solves the face question, not the footage question.
