How to find TikTok and Instagram trends before they peak

5 min read

To find TikTok and Instagram trends before they peak, use the tools the platforms keep for exactly this: TikTok's Creative Center, the trending audio page on Instagram Reels and the Trends tab in YouTube Studio. Then check whether the curve is still rising. If you would rather not hunt, the trend library in Duble AI lists each trend with the trend's views.

The Creative Center is TikTok's own tool for seeing which hashtags are rising. It sits in the TikTok for Business area and asks you to log in. According to TikTok's help article on Trends, updated in July 2026, you open Trends, filter by industry or time frame and see the trending hashtags. Open a hashtag's analytics and you get its trendline, related videos, audience insights, regional popularity and related hashtags.

Reels has a place for trending audio. In April 2023 Meta announced it: it lists the top trending songs on Reels, shows how many times each audio has been used and lets you use the audio or save it. It also shows trending topics and hashtags. The announcement is more than three years old, so the exact path through the menus may have moved.

With a professional account there is a second route. In the professional dashboard, the Inspiration item shows reels that are popular with your audience and lets you bookmark trending songs and audio clips, as Instagram for Creators describes it (May 2024). Instagram also has templates: per the Reels page, you can make your own version of a reel from a template and find templates in the Template Browser.

If you run a channel, YouTube Studio has a Trends tab under Analytics. YouTube's help lists the cards Top searches, Breakout videos, Recent videos and Content gaps for Shorts, and warns that since July 2026 Studio is being updated in stages, so your tab may look different.

Google Trends lists searches that have just surged. Per Google's help page, you can pick a country, set the window to 4 hours, 1 day, 2 days or 7 days, and each search is marked Active (still searched more than usual) or Ended (back to its typical volume). It shows what people look up, which suits a topic or a meme better than a dance or a sound.

How to tell an early trend from a late one

The numbers in these tools have no fixed threshold. What helps is the direction they take between two looks: they rise, stay flat or fall.

  • The curve is still rising. In the Creative Center, a hashtag's trendline shows whether interest is climbing or has already dropped. In Google Trends, an Ended marker says the search is back to normal.
  • The sound's use count keeps growing. Instagram shows how many times an audio has been used. Write the number down today and look again in two days. If it is still climbing fast, the trend is on its way up.

There is also a rule of thumb of ours, with no number behind it: if the same sound shows up in your feed from accounts that have nothing to do with each other, the wave is past its start.

No sign predicts how your own video will do. They only tell you whether to make the video now or look for another trend.

Why the sound matters

Instagram puts audio up front on its trend page, and the finished video on Duble AI keeps the trend's original sound. The app asks "What plays in this video?" before it generates, so that the double's mouth follows the voice when someone speaks or sings.

Check the sound's rules before you post. For business accounts, TikTok says in its Commercial Music Library help (July 2025) that businesses cannot use the general music library for commercial purposes and should use the Commercial Music Library, its pre-cleared catalog. Platform rules and image rights are covered in is an AI influencer legal?.

Using the Duble AI trend library as a shortcut

The library puts the trends in one place, ready for your influencer to step into. The app calls the influencer a double.

  1. Open Home. Signed out, the same screen is trends.
  2. The screen asks which video your double goes into. Pick Trending, the team's trends, or Community, finished videos that other people have published.
  3. Each card plays the trend, shows the trend's views, its length and the price in credits.
  4. Tap a trend and use "Watch the whole video, with sound" to check the original.

The views on a card are those of the trend's original video or, where the original's count is not known, an estimate. The Terms explain how the estimate is made. Either way the number promises no reach. A big number shows how large the wave is and says nothing about where in it you are. For that, use the signs above.

A weekly routine for getting there early

  1. Twice a week, open Trends in the Creative Center and Instagram's trending audio, and write down the hashtags and audio clips that are climbing fastest.
  2. Two days later, look at the same ones and see which kept rising.
  3. Pick a trend that is still climbing and watch the original with sound.
  4. Generate the video and post it. A 10-second trend at Standard quality is 20 credits, which comes to $3.33 on the 300-credit plan, and it is ready in one to three minutes. Label it as AI-made content where the platform asks: here is how on each platform.

The full steps for the video are in how to make AI trend videos. A trend can be an interview or a walk as well as a dance, and the dance has its own guide. Frequently asked questions

What is the AI trend on TikTok?
On Duble AI it means a trend that already exists, remade with your AI influencer in place of the person in it. The movement and the original sound follow the trend, the scene may change a little, and you write no prompt.
How do I know if a trend is still worth joining?
Check whether a hashtag's trendline in TikTok's Creative Center is still rising and whether an audio's use count on Instagram keeps growing between two looks, two days apart. Neither sign predicts how your own video will do.
Are the views on a trend card the views my video will get?
No. The views on a card are those of the trend's original video or, where the original's count is not known, an estimate. They show how big the wave is and promise no reach: how your own video does depends on your profile, the network and the moment.
Can I use any trending sound in my video?
On Duble AI the finished video keeps the trend's original sound. For a business account, TikTok says the general music library cannot be used for commercial purposes and that businesses should use its Commercial Music Library. Check the rule for your account type.
How much does a trend video cost and how long does it take?
A 10-second trend at Standard quality is 20 credits, which comes to $3.33 on the 300-credit monthly plan. It takes one to three minutes to make, and seconds at Turbo quality.
