Duble AI vs Adobe Firefly: a new scene or your recorded performance?

3 min read

Use Adobe Firefly when you need to create a shot that does not exist yet. Use Duble AI when the performance already exists and you want another character in it. The difference is where the action comes from: instructions for a new shot, or footage you have chosen.

We publish Duble AI and reviewed Adobe's documentation on November 1, 2026. We did not generate comparison samples, measure quality or test paid plans. This article compares the documented starting points, not which output looks more realistic.

What does Firefly document?

Adobe's text-to-video guide describes generating video from written instructions, including scene and camera choices. Its image-to-video documentation covers starting from images. Check the selected model's controls in your account rather than applying one model's specifications to everything inside Firefly.

These are useful starting points for an establishing shot, a visual idea or a product sequence that you have not filmed. Writing the desired action is a different brief from keeping a particular actor's already-recorded timing.

Decision Firefly route Duble AI route
You need an unfilmed scene Evaluate its generation tools Not a text-to-video service
You already chose the performance Confirm the specific editing tool needed Replace the person with your character
The original dialogue must remain Verify the selected workflow's audio behavior Result keeps the source recording's sound
You need a recurring character in trends Check reference workflow per model Reuse your saved character with chosen footage

For a broader choice, use the AI video tool directory. For the production distinction, read text-to-video versus character replacement.

When the recording should drive the result

Suppose the post depends on an exact pause before a reaction. If you can film that pause yourself, you have already solved the timing problem. Duble AI uses a trend or an upload of 3 to 30 seconds to supply the action and scene.

Create or select your character, choose the source and review who should be replaced. The finished video keeps the recording's sound. Duble AI creates no new voice or music. If the words need changing, address them in the source recording rather than expecting the character replacement to write new dialogue.

Review every part of the result: face during movement, hands near the face, entrance and exit, and any lettering in the scene. Replacement is generative, so the scene can change a little. The identity troubleshooting guide helps distinguish a difficult source from a poor reference.

A brief that separates the two jobs

Before choosing software, write three lines: the shot you need, what material already exists, and what must stay the same. For example:

  • New shot: a fictional presenter arriving in an imagined studio. Evaluate scene generation.
  • Recorded shot: your presenter making a specific gesture at a real desk. Evaluate character replacement.
  • Finished sequence: both shots with exact product names. Place those names in the final edit.

If you combine tools, keep an approved source for each shot. A scene generated elsewhere can only become source footage for Duble AI if it fits the upload requirements and you have permission to use it. Check its final sound before uploading; Duble AI retains that sound rather than composing a replacement track.

What to check before paying

Adobe's Firefly plans are the place to check current entitlements. A general credit balance is not enough information: identify the selected feature, required output and its consumption. This article does not repeat promotional prices or infer commercial permissions from a product slogan.

Duble AI Standard video uses 5 credits per second; ten seconds use 50 credits. Credits are paid, and there is no free video generation. Read the pricing explanation for purchase options and preparation costs.

Choose the tool after deciding which part of the performance is already fixed. That prevents paying for scene invention when you need a controlled recorded action, or expecting a character-replacement app to build an unfilmed location.

Frequently asked questions

Can Duble AI generate a scene from a Firefly-style prompt?
No. Duble AI requires a trend or existing video. It replaces the character; it does not invent a scene from text.
Does Firefly work only from text?
Adobe also documents image-based video generation. Available controls depend on the selected model and workflow.
Can the tools be used together?
Potentially. Check your permission to use the generated footage and Duble AI’s upload requirements. Review the source audio before the replacement step.
Which one makes a character look more realistic?
We did not run a comparative quality test, so this page does not rank realism. It compares documented workflows and inputs.
