AI model for Instagram: how to create one that does not read as a fake profile
7 min read
An AI model for Instagram reads as real when it is the same person in every post, in photos and in video that show places that exist. It stops reading as a fake profile when the profile says plainly that it is AI. On Duble AI you create the person and put them into photos and trends. The disclosure is yours to make, and Instagram now asks for it.
Which AI model do you mean?
The phrase covers two things. One is an invented person who posts photos and video like any creator, which is what this page is about. The other is Meta's AI Studio, a tool for chatbot characters. Meta's own post about AI Studio carries an update dated August 10, 2026, saying people can no longer create new AI characters or edit existing ones there (Meta).
What makes an AI model read as real?
It reads as real when the profile behaves like a person's. The face stays the same from post to post, and between the posed shots there is an ordinary moment.
One sourced case is Aitana Lopez. The Barcelona agency The Clueless made her, and co-founder Diana Núñez told Fortune that it took a few months of trying different looks before they had the Aitana people see today. Fortune reported in November 2023 that her profile, then at 122,000 followers, says she is a digital creator, and that her stories included a real-life breakfast bowl, part of her creators' effort to give her "the illusion of a life" (Fortune). By November 2025, TIME put the account at more than 380,000 followers (TIME).
One face, every post
Settle the look first, then post. Followers need to recognize the model in yesterday's post and today's, even in a different outfit or with different hair.
On Duble AI the character is called a double, and its outfit and hair make up a look. A new look costs 2 credits. Every look also gets two sheets that show the person from every side, with no button and no charge, and later photos and videos are drawn from them. The face is not guaranteed identical in every image, so check each photo before you post. How to keep one AI influencer consistent covers what helps.

Photos and video in the same feed
A profile of nothing but trend videos looks like a clip channel, and one of nothing but photos looks like a catalog. Together they look like a person's feed: the Reel shows the model moving, and the photo shows the model standing still among people and a place.
On Duble AI the video is a trend with its original sound, from $3.33. The photo is the model placed into a real photo, in the 4:5 feed format, for 2 credits.
Real places, and no pretending the model was there
Mia Zelu shows where the line is. Tennis.com described her on July 16, 2025 as an AI account run by anonymous creators that went viral with front-row photos from Centre Court at Wimbledon and had more than 160,000 followers, although, the article says, she did not actually go to Wimbledon. One caption read "Still not over the event…", and a commenter wrote that she was lucky to be there. Her bio promised "fashion inspo, daily moments & memories", and her AI origin was disclosed but hidden behind a "Read More" button. According to the article, backlash followed once her AI identity was revealed (Tennis.com).
A real place helps a model look real, which is why New photo starts from a photo of yours: the scene and the other people stay as they are, and the model steps into it. To avoid what Tennis.com reported, do not write in a caption that the model attended an event it did not. Say what the image is. Send only photos you have the right to use, with people who agreed to be in them.
What does Instagram ask for now?
On August 31, 2026, Instagram announced that its "AI creator" label is renamed AI-generated profile. According to Instagram, a profile that shows an AI-generated person can and should apply the label. Creators who use AI tools as part of their creative process do not need it (TechCrunch gives editing photos and polishing captions as examples).
To turn it on, edit your profile and switch on the AI-generated profile option. The label then starts to appear on the profile and next to the content. Instagram says creators who add it before being detected see no change in profile reach, and that it will limit the reach of profiles that should carry it and do not. Profiles it detects are notified and can check Account Status to see whether the account has reach limits. You can appeal a restriction you believe was a mistake, and if the appeal succeeds the profile and its content can appear in recommendations again. In Instagram's words, people do not like seeing a profile that seems human but is actually AI-generated.
Also say it in the first line of the bio. On Mia Zelu, Tennis.com reported that the information sat behind "Read More", and a notice nobody sees is not a notice. Each network's label and what it changes for reach are in how to mark AI content.
Step by step on Duble AI
- Create the model. Open the creation screen and choose Describe, Build, My photos or Cast. Creating costs nothing, up to 3 images across tries and adjustments. All four ways are in how to create an AI influencer.
- Set the main look. On the double's Looks tab, open the look you chose and tap Make this the main look. It is the look the double wears in videos when you pick no other.
- Make the first photos. On the double's page, open the Photos tab and tap New photo (with no photo yet, the button is Pick a photo). On the screen that opens, tap Choose photo. Pick Join the photo to put the model next to whoever is in it, or Swap into the photo to put the model in someone's place. Tap Make photo · 2 credits. A feed-format post is ready in about a minute.
- Make the first videos. On Home, tap the model and pick a trend. A 10-second video at Standard costs 20 credits and takes one to three minutes.
- Set up the Instagram profile. Write in the first line of the bio that the model is made with AI, and switch on the AI-generated profile option under edit profile.
- Label when you post. Mark the post as AI-made content where the platform asks.
The model should be an invented person, or you. Never a celebrity, and never anyone who did not agree: the Terms do not allow it.
What does an AI model earn?
Duble AI promises no reach, followers or income, and the Terms say so. One figure that circulates for an AI model comes from Aitana's own agency. Fortune reports that the agency's founder, Rubén Cruz, told Euronews she brings in about €3,000 a month on average and once took in €10,000, and that co-founder Diana Núñez told Fortune most of it comes from social media ads. Fortune also says she became an ambassador for a sports supplement brand. Those are the agency's statements, and the report shows no document that confirms them (Fortune, November 2023). The figures that exist are collected in another piece, with who said them and when.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I create an AI model for Instagram?
- On Duble AI you describe the person, build them part by part, make them from your own photos or take one from the cast. Then you put the model into real photos and trends, keep one look, and say in the profile that it is AI. Creating costs nothing, up to 3 images.
- Do I have to say my AI model is AI?
- Instagram says a profile that shows an AI-generated person can and should apply the AI-generated profile label, announced on August 31, 2026. Creators who add it before being detected see no change in reach. Profiles that should carry it and do not are notified when detected, and Instagram says it will limit their reach.
- How does an AI model look real without fooling people?
- It keeps the same face in every post, mixes photos and video, and stands in places that exist. To avoid fooling anyone, say it is AI in the first line of the bio, turn on Instagram's label, and never caption it as if the model was somewhere it was not.
- Can you make money with an AI model on Instagram?
- Some accounts land sponsored posts and deals, but nothing is guaranteed, and Duble AI promises no reach, followers or income. One figure that circulates comes from the agency behind Aitana, in 2023, and the report that printed it shows no document to back it.
- How much does a photo or a video of the model cost?
- A photo costs 2 credits. A 10-second trend video at Standard quality costs 20 credits, which comes to $3.33 on the 300-credit monthly plan. Creating the model costs nothing, up to 3 images, and credits never expire.
